ahead and behind

These are the days of the endless summer, these are the days, the time is now. There is no past, there’s only future, there’s only here, there’s only now.

The summer of 2023 is one we will not soon forget.

To enjoy our latest video be sure to watch it in 1080p, on a big screen and with the volume cranked up to 10.

We are fortunate to live on the highway that leads directly through Denali National Park.  This means new friends from all over the world that we have met during our winter travels can easily stop by to for a visit.

It also means we can re-connect with all our local friends that we have not seen all winter.

Basically it was a non-stop summer party with lots of friends coming and going.

It also meant we enjoyed fabulous bbq and smoked meats, super salads from Denise’s garden, a wide selection of tasty wines, whiskeys, incredible deserts and music that all stimulated much laughter.

The Pups Were Always Ready For Tasty Treats

Our daily walks around the community usually meant running into friends we had not seen for months.

As fall eventually arrives we prepare the house to be winterized and prep the Farther for southbound travel.

  1. I so love watching your videos! It gets me excited to get on the road again! Heading to Hilton Head Island SC for a week tomorrow! But then back home and back to work at the golf course in Rogers City for the summer! Been spending money on home improvements so travel has been limited! I am still trying to figure out a way to get out to see you guys again! But if you are back in MI anytime, please look me up!!! Would love for you to visit here!!! Safe travels home, should be heading there soon!

While not a participant in your adventures, I live them through my brother Mark and his equally adventuresome wife, Phyllis.

You two live the life most of us would kill to live, but I know it’s not all that easy. Although we have never met, through Mark, if feel as if I know both of you.

Keep on encouraging all of your followers that Life is what you make of it and to make the best choices and enjoy it to the max. We were not born to be slaves, but to enjoy Nature and be part of it.

I hope we meet sometime soon.

  5. Always thrilled when a new video pops up in my email. Glad you enjoyed your summer. When do you typically arrive back in Alaska for summer? And then head out on the road? I was surprised to see traffic heading north. Is that usual?

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Cousin, we typically arrive back in AK early May and head south again in late Sept, The north bound traffic in the video was taken on Interstate 5 north of LA last spring. Hope you and yours are doing well, come on up!!
